Attempting to Build an Ark 01/11/2012

Hi there,
Here we are in 2012 and I want to get started on some new projects.

I have been wanting to make Ark animals, two by two.
But, in order to have a good display...you need an Ark!

Many of you have been asking...could I make a pattern to build an Ark? This is quite an endeavor.
I have given myself the challenge of creating an ark using corrugated cardboard, mailing tape, hot glue and a 1 lb. package of instant paper mache.

If I am going to make a pattern, I want it to be accessible for all people. Although I have access to woods and power tools, many would not....therefore, the material list!

I have been working on the Ark for 2 days now. I figure it will take about a week to complete (lots of drying time).

Here it is so far. You will see that I am not done applying the paper mache. I allow parts of it to dry and then fill in the next day.

It will be painted once it's completely dry and then I will start making the animals.

I will keep you posted on this project and let everyone know as patterns become available. Till then, it's back to work for me!
Best,
Cathy
